PHIL NUTLEY
British-born designer Phil Nutley
has cultivated an international following with his multi-disciplinary
approach to creating furniture, product, and interior environments.
A resident of New York City since 1999, Phil is the creative director
of a design studio where among other projects, he has been developing
his own line of contemporary furniture and products. His recent commissions
include concepts for fashion boutiques, private residences, and workspace
studios. His work has been featured in CITY, Blueprint, Surface,
Nylon, Interni, Budget Living, Vizyon Dekoraysion, and Australian
Style magazines.  |

PRACHI MISHRA
Though only 21, Prachi Mishra’s
innovative Indian textiles are a testimony to the extensive experience
she has already gained. A native of New Delhi, Prachi studied textile
design at the National Institute of Design in India for four years.
A three-month program at Konstfack (the arts, crafts, and design
college in Stockholm), completed her formal education. Time spent
at Indian design houses such as Anokhi and Satya Paul gave her
practical training in her craft. She is currently collaborating
with a clothing and home store called Indiska Magasinet in Sweden.

MINJUN KIM
After obtaining a degree in biology from
Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea, Minjin Kim found his calling
at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After graduating,
he honed his abilities at various architectural firms and design
studios in New York, blending traditional Korean aesthetics with
a modern western approach. Companies like Wolford, Salvatore Ferragamo,
Van Cleef and Arpels, and others have sought him out for high-end
retail environments and residential projects. After 11 years of practicing
design in New York, Minjun has recently moved to Korea where he heads
a multi-disciplinary design practice called studio0915. |

MARK HALES
Since graduating from Ravensbourne College
in 1994, Mark Hales has consulted on a number of prestigious product
lines. Before British Airways tabled the Concorde, Mark worked on
the redesign of the planes, overhauling the entire look from the
interior walls down to the flatware. Next up was a line of furniture
called Content by Conran, designed for Terence Conran’s successful
home furnishings empire, and a series of ceramics and kitchenware
for Nigella Lawson. Mark is currently Associate Director of Product
Design at Conran & Partners in London. |

MARIA DUPUIS
Maria Dupuis’s international education in design is reflected
in the diverse clientele she designs for. She earned a degree in
architectural drafting in Iceland before studying industrial design
in Madrid, and then earning a masters in Italy in the same discipline.
Her work covers product design and interiors, including new concepts
for Coca Cola’s Italian market. She has received accolades
for a number of projects including her contributions at VA architects
in Reykjavik, Iceland. |

MADS MANDRUP
Educated at the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen,
Mads Mandrup is currently practicing at KHRAS Architects in Copenhagen.
His projects cover commercial work in addition to entries for national
and international design competitions. Mandrup has exhibited at venues
like the celebrated architectural Biennale in Venice in 1996. In
between projects, Mandrup tutors design at the architectural department
of the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. |

IVANCKA IOTOV
Ivancka Iotov studied graphic design at
the Design Center in Johannesburg, South Africa. She cites color
and concept as the main influences on her design process. After
completing a three-year degree, Ivancka developed an educational
curriculum for the Ethiopian government. Through videos and other
materials, a team of 100 pulled together the comprehensive program.
She has since moved on to Tequila\Durban, an office of advertising
titan TBWA Hunt Lascaris located in Sandton, South Africa. |

FABIO RIGHETTO
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Fabio
Righetto graduated in design in from Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado
(FAAP) and received a masters in social design from Universidade
Estadual Paulista (UNESP). He launched his career in industrial design,
working for companies spanning auto, naval, and sporting goods. He
went on to found his own design consultation firm called Creare Design,
which later became Domus Design. Fabio also teaches design at the
FAAP, Universidade Sao Judas Tadeu (USJT), and Universidade do Estado
da Bahia (UNEB). |

EMIR URAS
Emir Uras began his studies in architecture
at the Architectural Association in London, England, and continued
on for a masters at the Southern California Institute of Architecture
in Los Angeles. His first venture was Urastudio, a multidisiplinary
design practice he established in Los Angeles. In the late ’90s
he moved back to his native Turkey and set up Urastudio, specializing
in architecture and industrial design, in Istanbul. He entered the
home furnishings category by establishing Nu in Los Angeles, which
produces a line of contemporary furniture and rugs. Most recently
he teamed up with Durmus Dilekci of GAD Architecture to form Dustudio
Architects. In addition to his commercial ventures, Emir teaches
at Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul. |
