Pushing the boundaries of photography is at CITY's core, and we can't wait for tonight's opening of Conceptual Photography, 1964–1989 at New York's Zwirner & Wirth gallery. Featuring works by Lucas Samaras, Charles Ray (Plank Piece I, II, above), Andy Warhol, and Sol LeWitt, the exhibit focuses on the photograph as a creative tool in the making of performance and personal study. Highlighted works include photographic documentation of a Nam June Paik performance and Bruce Nauman's Studies for Holograms (a–e), all proving—as they should—that with exciting photography, there's much more than meets the eye. Seattle Art Museum unveiled it's new downtown location this week.
