LORI MIDSON has a taste for adventure. While in Santa Fe (page 48), she "drank mescal for eight hours straight with a convoy of cowboys." But it's not the vaqueros that keep the Denver native coming back to New Mexico's captal; this die-hard foodie can't resist the eats. Or writing about them--she's a restaurant critic at Colorado AvidGolfer and has edited many a Zagat survey. "There's nothing I love better than finding those off-the-eaten-path, underbelly dining dens that no one else knows about," says Midson, who's at work on a guide to Denver's ethnic restaurants.
