German-born photographer THOMAS RUSCH took his crew to Thailand to shoot “Treasure Island” (page 98), this issue’s look at summer apparel and jewelery. “It was amazing. I loved it there,” gushes Rusch. Nearly two decades into his photography career, Rusch’s education as a painter seems far behind, though clients like Nars and magazines like GQ, Esquire, Surface, and Tank would argue his vision still rings of fine art. Rusch is based out of Paris and Berlin.
