CITY wrapped up its second annual One City Many Destinations photo competition with a series of soirees and exhibitions across the US to showcase the contest's winning photos. The One City Many Destinations photo contest invited both amateur and professional photographers from around the world to submit images that capture the essence of a city or other travel destination. Out of 4,030 photos a renowned panel of judges selected one grand prize winner and 15 runners up to be included in CITY's October 2008 Destinations issue and to be exhibited at W Hotels nationwide.
On September 18th, the photos were unveiled at a gala event at the W Times Square where contest winner Greg Vore was also awarded his grand prize:
• A dream CITY photography assignment: The opportunity to shoot a sponsored-editorial travel photography story on Austria's art, architecture, and design landscape for City's 2009 Spring Travel issue. This week-long trip for two goes to the country's most stunning locations: Voralberg/Bregenz, Tirol/Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Vienna. The Austrian Tourist Office will pick up the tab on the whole experience from round-trip airfare and rooms at luxurious hotels to gourmet meals at top restaurants.
• An Olympus E-3 SLR digital camera with an ED 12-60mm F2.8/4.0 SWD Lens.
• A three-piece luggage set from Globe-Trotter's line of handmade luxury luggage.
